our story

Itsa Bagel, founded by sisters Peaches and Domini Kemp, opened its doors in December 1999 at The Epicurean Food Hall on Middle Abbey Street. As qualified chefs, their mission has always remained the same: to bring customers delicious, high-quality food at an affordable price.

From the beginning, Itsa Bagel has been known for its commitment to fresh ingredients and the perfect balance of flavours in every bite. The original eight signature bagels, The Club, The Mountaineer, The Caesar, The Gourmet Veggie, The Reuben, The Californian, The Deluxe (now The Norwegian), and The All-Day Cure (now The Breakfast), are still on the menu today, alongside many other mouth-watering additions.

Over the years, they have served millions of Irish people and visitors from abroad. The company prides itself on understanding what its customers and clients want by not just asking, listening, and creating but also staying curious and, crucially, cooking and tasting.

Our team of chefs continues to prepare our meats and condiments in-house daily, using the same beloved recipes that have delighted customers for the past 25 years. As for our bagels? We started by importing H&H Bagels from New York – an exciting first in Ireland at the time. A few years later, we took the next step and began baking them ourselves, bringing a New York classic to Irish soil.

While our current home is in Arnotts on Middle Abbey Street, we’re actively looking to expand. Watch this space: there’s more to come!
